About — Kelly Dessoye

I am a video journalist and verité documentary filmmaker specializing in long term reporting projects about how policy, the environment, social and cultural factors impact lived experiences. My storytelling is character driven and cinematic, combining emotional connection with rigorous, thorough and balanced reporting; always prioritizing compassionate, respectful interviews and interactions with participants.

I’ve been awarded several Mid-Atlantic Regional Emmys, a Public Media Award, POYi Award of Excellence and several NPPA honors for this work.

I'm currently based in Northeastern Pennsylvania where I produce resource based reporting for the community here. I’m looking for like minded news organizations and editors who want to collaborate and I’m available for long and short term assignments globally.
